You always do what you want to do. This is true with every act. You may say that you had to do something, or that you were forced to, but actually, whatever you do, you do by choice. Only you have the power to choose for yourself.

Love is the essence of creation. However that does not mean that emotions generally considered to be ‘negative’ are necessarily bad. Negative emotions have their part to play in creation, and when balanced or naturally channelled, actually produce very positive results. The so-called ‘seven deadly sins’ are in reality survival instincts that appear across the animal kingdom and are expressed in humans as feelings.

for Guilt: without it we would find it impossible to belong to a family, a pack or group, because we would commit the most atrocious acts with no sense of remorse.
Fear is one of the most beneficial of all emotions as it stops us from putting ourselves into dangerous situations that would otherwise lead to our demise.
Of all the music that reached farthest into heaven, it is the beating of a loving heart.

Envy stems from an instinct to soak up surrounding resources.
Pride is a mating strategy to attract the fittest partner.
Sloth is a way of conserving energy and increasing longevity.
Greed, in both food and sex, is a way of ensuring that your genes are passed on to the next generation.
Gluttony is a strategy for preparing for hibernation and surviving the famine between meals.
Lust is the guarantee that, no matter how solitary the creature, it will at some stage feel the urge to mate and thus perpetuate the species.
Even the explosive energy of Anger proves positive by allowing us to call upon great power when bringing down our prey, or escaping those who would prey upon us.

As Brian Tracy, one of the world’s leading experts in setting goals, says: ‘Either you learn to set your own goals, or you are destined to spend the rest of your life working for someone who does!

When you make a mistake, don’t look back at it long. Take the reason of the thing into your mind, and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.

If you’re anxious about what other people may say about your goals there are two basic ways to overcome the situation. The first is not to tell anyone about your goals, plans or desires, just to keep them to yourself until you have achieved results. The second, and preferable choice is to surround yourself with positive people who will encourage you in all your positive endeavours; this also makes a statement about your belief in yourself. Sharing your goal with a like-minded person is a great step towards its achievement. Every time you tell someone about your goal you are reaffirming the goal to yourself and reinforcing your positive message to your subconscious genie.
Thus to be independent of public opinion is the first formal condition of achieving anything great.

People Don’t Know How to Set Goals
Some people know that they should set goals, but don’t know how to set them. While goal-setting is a natural mental process, developing it into a powerful tool for achievement is a skill, and like all skills it must be learned

as far as is comfortable, keep looking down your arm, and make a mental note of a point on the wall that indicates how far you have reached.
Return to face the front and lower your arm.
Put the book down and do this first part now!
    Part Two
Now repeat the process, but this time use only your mind.
Do not physically move. Stay still.
Close your eyes and simply imagine that you are turning. It doesn’t matter if you don’t see the movement vividly, just think about it or tell yourself you are doing it.
See yourself going round as you did before, only this time tell yourself that it feels so easy that you can go much further.
Tell yourself that you are going at least one metre further than your original point.
Hold your focus for a moment.
Make a mental note that you have passed your original achievement, then return to face the front again and mentally lower your arm.
Put the book down again now, close your eyes for greater impact, and imagine yourself doing part two.
    Part Three
    Now physically repeat the exercise.
Don’t put any more effort into it than you did the first time.
Simply raise your right arm and turn round to the right.
See how much further you go now!
Do the final part now before reading further.
This exercise is known as Positive Pre-Play and represents the very essence of goal-setting, that is, positively pre-playing or visualizing the outcome you desire before taking physical action.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
