Lord of Temptation

with a bit of deviltry in his eyes and the start of a smile that promised mischief

“You,” she croaked.

He grinned, a grin that spoke of secrets shared. “Me.”

She’d stepped through the door as though she owned the night, had called down the rain, had commanded the thunder to rumble.

He could do that. He could deeply bury everything about himself. He could become someone else. He would become someone else.

He only hoped that when the time was right, he could find himself once again.
