Which element defines a pine tree? The crisp aromatics? The tips of the needles, soft and angular against my skin? The roughness of the bark? Or the richness of the overall experience that one has beneath its branches? It is all these things with ease, stretching beneath the hardbacked earth enabling it to stand nearer the sun than most terrestrial fauna.
