Web based GIS is today seen as a great opportunity due to better IT infrastructure internally in offices and externally between such. Bandwidth has been a limitation and also the server capacities and its computing performance. Last obstacle solved is the image processing of computers, even handheld ones and smart phones. It has become an environment where web based or as some say, cloud based GIS can cope and deliver.
