After writing poetry in my teens I started to write and perform songs with my band. I became a journalist and then started writing plays for BBC Radio. My first book Nude Untitled was followed by The Disappearing Act. The Glimmer Palace (The Luminous Life of Lilly Aphrodite in the UK) took about five years to write. My new novel, The Songwriter is set in New York in 1916-20 and is published in March 2010. I have also written a book for children with the illustrator, Sara Pinto which comes out in June.Take look at my blog-
