Piu Marie Eatwell

Piu Eatwell was born in India, of mixed Anglo-Indian descent. She studied English at Oxford University, graduating 'summa cum laude' with a starred First Class degree, coming fourth in her year. She subsequently worked as a lawyer and television producer for the BBC and other TV companies. Piu now lives in Paris and writes about French-themed subjects, as well as historical true crime.Piu's first book, 'They eat horses, don't they? The truth about the French' (Head of Zeus, August 2013 UK/St Martin's Press December 2014 USA) won the Next Generation Indie Award for non-fiction (multi-cultural category), and was the Daily Mail and the Times book of the week.Piu's second book, a historical mystery about a famous Edwardian Trial, was 'The Dead Duke, his secret wife, and the missing corpse.' (Head of Zeus, October 2014 UK/WW Norton October 2015 USA). 'The Dead Duke' was nominated for the Goodreads Readers' Choice Best History Book of the Year in 2015.Piu's next book, 'F is for France', is a treasury of fun facts about France, published by St Martin's Press in June 2016.She is presently working on a new historical true crime book.When not delving in history archives, Piu divides her time between London and Paris.
