Susan Sokol Blosser

Susan Sokol Blosser, wine industry pioneer, community leader, environmental advocate, and author, is a contemporary Oregon icon. As Sokol Blosser Winery’s president (1991-2008), she was a forerunner in practicing the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit) while pursuing her vision of great wine. Sokol Blosser Winery has been honored by Oregon Business Magazine as one of Oregon’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” and by the Portland Business Journal as one of the “Most Admired Companies in Oregon.”After turning over the winery in 2008 to her two of her children, Alex and Alison, who serve as Co-Presidents, Susan stepped back, retaining the title of Founder. She founded the Yamhill Enrichment Society (YES) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2011. It’s mission is to build community through innovative and collaborative projects which promote childhood literacy, further music enrichment, encourage women leaders, nurture community history, and work toward a robust local food economy.She has authored three books: At Home in the Vineyard: Cultivating a Winery, an Industry, and a Life (2006); Gracious & Ruthless: Surprising Strategies for Business Success (2008); and Letting Go: How One Entrepreneur Energized Her Business, Empowered the Next Generation, and Embraced a Bold New Vision (2014).
