Matthew Kressel

Matthew Kressel is the author of KING OF SHARDS, which NPR Books calls, "Majestic, resonant, reality-twisting madness." He is multiple Nebula Award Finalist and World Fantasy Award Finalist.He grew up reading science fiction and fantasy, but it wasn't until he took a class at the New School taught by the late Alice K. Turner that he began taking writing seriously. Since then he's published several dozen short stories, which have been translated into Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Romanian, and Czech. His debut novel King of Shards is out in 2015 from Resurrection house and the next in the series, Queen of Static, will be out in 2016.His numerous short stories have appeared in such publications as Lightspeed, Nightmare Clarkesworld Magazine,, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Interzone, Electric Velocipede, Apex Magazine, and the anthologies Naked City, After,The People of the Book, and The Mammoth Book of Steampunk, as well as other markets.
