Mariam Petrosyan was born in 1969 in Yerevan. She studied Art at college and in 1989 became a cartoonist at the Studio of Armenfilm.Later she moved in Moscow and worked at Soyuzmultfilm Studio. At 1995 Mariam went back to Armenfilm, in which studio she worked until 2007.Mariam is married to Artashes Stamboltsan. They have two children. She is a great-granddaughter of the painter Martiros Saryan.
