Thierry Sagnier

Thierry Sagnier is a writer whose works have been published both in the United States and abroad. He is the author of The IFO Report, (Avon Books), Bike! Motorcycles and the People who Ride Them (Harper & Row), Washington by Night (Washingtonian Books), Thirst (Pigasus Press), and The Fortunate Few (NCNM Press). His short story, Lunch with the General, published in Chrysalis Reader, was nominated for a 2013 Pushcart Prize, an American literary prize honoring the best “poetry, short fiction, essays or literary whatnot published in the small presses.” He is also the author of Writing about People, Places and Things, an online collection of essays chronicling his thoughts on writing, family and friendships, and his bout with cancer. His novel, Montparnasse, set in Paris in 1919, will be published in 2019 by Apprentice House. Sagnier was born in France and came to the United States in his early teens. He has worked and written for The Washington Post and several other newspapers and magazines, produced videos and short films for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and was a columnist for Canada’s Le Devoir. His short plays were selected for production by the East End Fringe Festival in Long Island, and have been produced in Virginia and at New York City’s Ta Da Theater. He currently lives in Virginia.
