Flemming Rose was born and raised in Copenhagen. After 14 years of working as a foreign correspondent in Moscow and Washington, D.C., he returned to Denmark. From 1999 through 2015 he worked for Jyllands-Posten, Denmark's biggest daily newspaper, first as Moscow correspondent, then as culture editor, and since 2010 as the paper's foreign editor.
